On Monday 12th December 22 friends provided cakes for members of staff at Tallis to say thank you for all their care and dedication since the move to the new school. The following week friends were on hand again to serve drinks and snacks at the annual Christmas Concert performed for the first time in the new Main Hall.
Thanks to all the bakers and cake providers for their generosity. Feedback from staff was very positive and they really appreciated the time we took to say thank you to them for their hard work.

Help needed
Dear Friends,
Sue Bolton has asked that Friends help at the 6th form parents eve. Are any of you available on Tuesday 22nd March from 4.30 -6.30 to sell teas and coffees to parents and students. It’s good to make our presence known and to help the school out. There will be students who need supervising to hand out drinks to Staff. This takes the burden off the school and raises a small bit of money!
Obviously Yr12 parents are not asked to help on this one, however I will help set up (also as I am a Yr12 parent).
Please reply ASAP. And forward this to any other parents who may help. We only need 3 volunteers, but I know as people are working this can be hard to find!

A massive thanks to Friends of Tallis members who helped serve the refreshments to a packed house at this year’s wonderful Christmas Concert. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all!

Cakes
Dear friends
The school has asked if the friends can do a refreshments table at the parents evenings. This will be good to add to our fundraising and our first objective is the 6th form common room.
Parents evening for Year 13 is Wednesday 13th October. Please can you help?
Any donations of cakes to sell will also be appreciated or if you know a friend who can bake, plesae encourage them to make a contribution!

A big thanks you to the Friends of Tallis who ran the barbecue on both nights of the ‘Past, Present & Future’ events last week. Thanks also to Charlie for doing such a great job of printing the eras t-shirts. It was great to see so many parents, carers and friends at the event. The students really appreciated having such a big audience to perform to.

Here’s the poster for the ‘Past, Present & Future’ events on 15 and 16 July. It would be great if the Friends of Tallis could set up and run a barbecue on both evenings, especially since I’ve included it in the poster! ;-) Jon
